Question Heat pad or heat bulb?

I've heard some people say a heat pad is better, others say an over head bulb W/ a dome. I'm wondering if its preference, or need?

I've also heard that Garter's are baskers, therefor an over head light would be better?

I've kept my garters on heating pads (for winter nights because I live in a very cold state) and basking bulbs (for daytime heat), and find that they really enjoy basking under lamps. You'll get more interesting behavior and see your garter more with a basking light as the main heat source.

That said, one of my snakes is more extroverted and basks more and the other is shier, and doesn't bask as much.

    Good luck!

Yeah, maybe if a moderator would monitor this website for spammers ....
No one can be that desperate for traffic.
    Or maybe so.

    For what it's worth ...
I gave up on UTH and use an overhead basking light only now.
I keep the room my snakes are in around 72 degrees for night time temp.
Two year old poll ... I doubt anyone will even notice.
