    Re: Albino Granite Checkered

that is 100% percent guranteed julios forarm in the photo i know from his tattoos and that was my snake at 1 time and is nothing more then a normal albino that was purchased from a petsmart in 2011 originally and is pushing 7 years old now none the less a bad investment if your intentions are to breed her as she is very old and most likly complications would arrise.
Im just trying to save you the hassle of a dissapointment and giving you the true history on the snake as its apparent julio is not

I did see the normal albino checkered that was in a separate photo with this granite checkered female but it was quite apparent the differences in the two snakes. Dan, are you saying this animal ( photo) is a normal albino checkered or a inter grade of some kind? Clearly it's not a normal albino checkered garter.

there is nothing "clear" about that photo. so clearly it can be misrepresented as well. i truely hope its not dans original female and this snake is fairly young but she dosent look like no spring chicken.lol do you have any background on her? like what pairing produced her or who originally produced her or her parents? all this is great information that should be known before a purchase like this.
can you show us the other photo your talking about? sorry if it seems like im attacking you but im trying to better understand the lineage of her genetics and if its julio he is shady so please be carefull dealing with him

Well, if Dan recognizes the animal as 1 he previously owned then it must be a "clear " picture to him. And I appreciate the help but no I don't feel like you are " attacking" me. I am trying to understand the exact genetics myself. This animal is not a "regular" albino checkered garter. Bought from Petsmart or not. The patterning is clearly "atypical" and not "normal or "regular" for a everyday albino checkered garter snake. That is all I am saying.

he recognizes the person holding the garter not the garter itself, because of the tattoos on the guys arm match julio's tattoos he is assuming its the same checkered he sold him awhile back. to me i can see a lil bit of abberant patterning but the photo has too much light that washed out the pattern. i hope you get to see her in person and can verify that it is indeed a granite albino and are able to breed her this spring. i also want to add that you have to be careful buying adults from anybody cause you never know if they are very old or throw slugs every year and are non breeders. up until this year i always sold my adults after they gave me 2 litters but i want to start keeping long term breeders.

that snake pictured was the snake i sent julio and that is julio holding it and as for it being an albino granite can anyone on this forum say that their has been an albino granite ever produced let alone a large adult female popping up out of nowere?
If im wrong then so be if the snakes genetics hold true to what you state then thats a fantastic break through for the checkered species and hobbyists.
All im really trying to say here is that the arm holding that snake belongs to julio and that snake belonged to me at one time in which it was sent to julio and he never held up his end of the trade.
I never had much interest in checkereds to pay attention to it even possibly having an off pattern but i can say for certain that snake pictured is the one i traded him
with that said ive said enougha nd will remain silent on this thread
good luck in your endevours albert and tommy keep up all the hard work and hopefully you create some new designer morphs this season i know i will keep an eye out for your adds and im sure you will see mine soon as i have 3 gravid girls here swelling up fast.

Thanks for all your help Dan and Tommy! Happy New Year! I plan on investigating and doing my research on this particular animal. Bill Black in Philadelphia is dealing with some granite checkered projects and I will check with him as soon as I can. Good luck with your projects and I will keep an eye out for your productions as well. Some of my adults will be coming out of hibernation in January 2016 and I plan to have a nice selection of marcianus, concinnus, hopefully some blue pickeringi as well. Thanks again for the heads up I appreciate it.

I am glad we were at least able to let Albert know he must procede with caution. This group has a lot of great members and I would hate to see someone get ripped off.

albino granites aren't anything new, that combo was made years ago. I don't know if the one is question is or not, because the picture is really blurry, but it is certainly possible for adult albino granites to be out there.
