    Rough Earthsnake question

I found a rough earthsnake on the sidewalk at night in the winter. Is there a reason it would be there at that time? It seems too cold for it. I brought it inside and did my best to make it a small, temporary habitat for the night. I am thinking of releasing it at the park nearby tomorrow. Is that a good idea? It has been in the mid-60s for the high lately, but the high on Saturday is only going to be 44. Will it have time to get settled and safe? Thanks for any help you can give!

    Re: Rough Earthsnake question

I don't think releasing it in an unfamiliar area is a good idea. This time of the year isn't safe. Are you up to having a winter guest?
