Re: December 2010 Photo & Caption Comments Thread

I would say that your photo is acceptable since the color your talking about doesn't really enhance the photo. It is a very small percentage of the photo and not being used to accent the black and white.
    I hope that makes sense.
I'll be honest if a photo was posted of a snake(black and white) on a very colorful flower(in color) I would consider that unacceptable.
Any other thoughts out there on this subject.

    whats that
Itīs hard to decide, if it is a gorgeous morph or excellent photo editing
    really cool picture

While looking at the sample and first picture I wondered, that guess about the specy/ subspecy/morph of the pictured snakes might become an additional fun this month.

I think that's a great idea Udo. Where should we post our guesses? on this thread?

Since I'm not in the photo contest I'll tell you my photo is of a female T.s.parietalis

To be honest, I'd rather you gray-scaled that photo, Don. It's neat that the snake looks like it's in black and white, but you know it'd get "extra points" for that alone and personally, I'd rather have this contest be about photography, not who's got the coolest snake. I also disagree with Steve, turning it black and white does make a noticable difference.

I will leave the species and morph out fornow and let every one guess...
I put it here kind of as a joke since the snake itself is black and white
unfortunately she passed away last year unexpectedly. she was a cool snake and I was really bummed!

I can say this much... Very nice photos this month.

It's going to be a tough vote at the end.
