Biography:

Single mother of four beautiful children. We are brain food addicts (love learning mostly random things), started out this spring collecting different species of frogs (leopard, cricket, grey tree), turns out we like the grey tree frogs (which we have watched start as a bright green and turn grey then back again) best. We started a terrarium of a sort. Now my eldest son (7yrs) has brought us home a new friend. We started researching what type of garter it was or if it was a ribbon. Easy enough. Plains or as I've learned here, T. radix. Figuring out a site or way to determine the gender was the real task for us, but I think we got it and don't have to do any ugly 'popping' or probing and risk hurting our new buddy. Turns out, we have ourselves a girl. After registering on here I found more info and learned most of everything from this one site, so more than helpful, we are grateful. Though now you have ignited a fire in my curiosity and wonder about our specific T. radix garter. I have seen many different types of even these guys and read about every forum I could find. The breeding really interests me. The variations, especially the snow and bizzard, and mostly black (as I can't quite recall the specific name) t. radix. The genealogy and polynomial traits and just everything it all brings is something simply beautiful. I admire the work I have seen. Although I wish someone could provide a breakdown for the variations of the T. radix, i think I got some of it, just putting the names to the pics, but not all of it. This just might be our next big adventure here. Looking forward to new friends and learning a thing or two. Oh yeah, one more thing, looking to take up bow hunting and in need of a skilled person to learn from. I find my solace in the woods..
