I'm looking at him again, and he really is. That yellOw and black, is just awesome. I don't think I've ever seen a carpet python like that.

Re: A few cool pictures / stories attached.

I just had to share this.. Yesterday I was down by the creek just walking around when I happen to notice a nice little eastern garter, approximately a second year snake.

I crouched down and kept eye contact on that snake for quite a while, it crawled up over several downed tree limbs, through some rocks and grass, periodically stopping to assess it's surroundings.

Crouching there watching this free roaming wild snake go about it's activities was really fascinating.. I kept my movements to a minimum so I don't think the snake saw me at all.

This little one covered a lot of ground quickly, and it honestly looked as if it was exploring, taking in the sights, possibly looking for that perfect basking spot or meal.

After several minutes the snake wandered into some brush where it blended in perfectly just as I lost eye contact.

Oh and the day before I caught a yearling water snake taking advantage of the receding water in the creek. Pockets of minnows are getting trapped in small pools, easy pickings for fish eaters.

That's cool! I've followed a green snake and it seemed the same way. Neat story.

Where can you get green snakes. I heard that we are sopposed to have them here but I havent seen any. I want to catch one and keep it. I saw one in a garter snake book (i forgot the exact name ) but that one is so awesome. I think it might be cause my favorite color is green.
