Radix that I have taken over care for

Tonight I went and picked up a radix from a fellow keeper that didn't have much interest in keeping Thamnophis. It is like nothing I have ever seen before. What is your opinion on what this thing Is?

It's hard to say with young Radix. I've seen some very light colored ones produced in the past. I can't wait to see how this little gem colors up. Could be xanthic!

To be honest I would be happy either way. Due to legalities of my state, I am not sure this could make it into the hobby even if it is genetic.

. Nice pickup Ant! Is this a captive bb animal? Could be hypo. Even though garters are for the most part polymorphic. Male or female? Either way, this is a keeper. Good luck with it.

I agree with Joe. Light phase normal. Beautiful, by the way.

Albert, thank you. It is a wild caught animal. As I have seen many radix in Colorado and none of them looked anything like this, I agree there is a good possibility this guy is hypo melanistic. I have not had the chance to sex it yet.
