    Re: New Moderator on Thamnophis

    Hi folks,
Thanks for all of the well wishes. Jason is still setting me up with all of the privileges, so I don't have the ability to delete or edit posts yet. Unfortunately, one of our new members has taken the opportunity to include a bit of nudity in his first post on the "Can't get a Snake" thread. If you're offended by such, don't flip through that thread until Jason has had a chance to remove it.

I think in general, though, we have such a friendly and polite forum that my main job will just be to move the occasional thread from one folder to another . I consider it a real honor to be one of the moderators on THIS forum, and I look forward to watching it grow and prosper with each of your help. Please send me PMs if there is anything I can do, but realize that I was probably chosen for my willingness to help with snake issues... definitely not for my computer saavy. I think this will be an excellent chance for me to learn more about moderating, though. Best regards and thanks again,
    Rick

    Cazador,
I'm not sure what a moderator is, but I am sure you'll be good at it! Congrads!

    Re: New Moderator on Thamnophis

Well, basically, I try to delete the porn (or theoretically any other spam) before too many people see it, and try to ensure that the forum is a welcome and productive place for people to chat about garter snake issues. We got hit fairly hard last week, but Jason (AKA Boots; the forum owner) has a plan to get rid of random posts into our forum, so that makes my job even easier. Basically, I just have a lot of fun on the forum and have a different name under my screen name.

I, like a lot of the members here, enjoy talking and learning about snakes enough that we try to keep fairly focused and make the forum a fun place to be, so it's mainly the spammers that have to be monitored... not the forum members. Still, my goal is to help the forum grow into a resource for information that isn't available (or isn't easy to find) elsewhere.

Thank you. I guessed some of that, but not all. Sad that people would put porn or other icky things on here!
