    Re: "Albino Florida Garter Snake"

I bet they would in canada because they are still not that common here, but babies here run around $125 to $150.

    Re: "Albino Florida Garter Snake"

I feel like sending him a message saying $75 and I'll take 2 of them, they aren't worth THAT much.

The 2 albino checkereds I bought here in manitoba were $100 last year and then $50 for the 2nd one this past weekend

The one I bought this past weekend the guy bought at the convention as a baby for $45, sold it to me for $50

Hoping there will be some selection of garters at the convention this year. I'd be tempted to buy them all

Somebody should contact that person and let them know they have the totally wrong species. They probably don't even know those aren't actually florida garters, I can see how that could get mixed up, them being in canada where these animals are not nearly as common. It's bad if they do sell them as floridas, and they end up getting bred to floridas. You could also inform them that they are not worth nearly as much as the real deal floridas, but the main point here is not the value of the animals, it's the severe misidentification. Either the seller is lying, or they were lied to by someone else, or the person they got theirs from was also misinformed.

it's also possible, but highly unlikely that the seller didn't have a photo of their snakes, and googled an image to use and ended up with a picture of marcianus. But I doubt the florida albinos have made their way into canada to the extent of being bred by random people yet!

    Re: "Albino Florida Garter Snake"

I actually contacted him before I posted on here asking if it was an albino checkered (still a noob! ). He sent me a list of species that he has because I told him I was looking for garters:

    Central American Garters
    Lined garters
    Albino checkered
    Scott's
    Eastern Flame
    Plains
    California red sided

This just confuses me. If he also has albino checkereds, shouldn't he be able to tell them apart? Maybe it's just a wrong photo? I wonder how he has so many garters and isn't on this forum! Or maybe he is... *glances around nervously* Lol.
