    HELP My Snake Stopped Eating

I have been feeding my garter snake baby and and medium sized mice. Recently she has stopped eating. She recently shed within the last month and ate one or two since then. But now she had let three meals go to waste. I have always sliced the mouse open to get the smell to float around in her cage but now she just smells and ignores it. I added more humidity and heat but nothing is making her eat. I don't know what to do and I am getting worried reading posted about tapeworms and mouth rot. Please help.

I was considering feeding her bird meat, and fish (the type that are not bad for her) because her baby eats only fish.
    What would you recommend?

Firstly, most inappetance in snakes can be traced back to the husbandry. The important thing is to correct any inconsistencies in their enviornment. What type of enclosure are your snakes in and what are the temps, humidity, and lighting like? Any mice with fur should typically be avoided or offered only very infrequently. Garters don't digest hair/fur very well. Large pink mice or pink rats are easier on their digestive tracts.
Stay in peace and not pieces.

Do you know what species you have? Night crawlers are usually a great food source unless we are talking about a Ribbon Snake. I.D. is important. Can you post up a photo so we can get a relative size and I.D. You used the word "baby" so I'm curious about the size, especially since you're feeding mice.

I have a Western Terrestrial Garter. She is about 3 feet and has a baby. She gave birth back in August. Her baby is a couple inches and really enjoys fish.

She only gave birth to 1. Any stillborns or slugs(unfertilized eggs)? Are you housing the baby with the mother?

She gave birth to 12. 3 stillborns. Eventually the rest passed away except one. I put the baby and mother in different cages.

The three stillborns were in a red looking type egg but never quite understood what this was because the rest I figured were live birthed. I was gone the night she gave birth but I found no shells.

The shell is only a thin clear membrane.
