I found a nice range map I'd like to add. Is copyright an issue with appropriate attribution?

Copyright is always an issue, unless stated otherwise wherever the map was published. I don't think we can claim "fair use".

You can of course open it up in photoshop or similar program, make a new layer and trace the map onto it and save the layer as a new image. That new map you can claim as your own, or better yet, as public domain.

    Re: Plains Garter Snake

We have discussion thread set up specifically for certain species of garter snakes and nobody uses them. What's the point? We're talking about public domain and that's about it, in a discussion thread for Plains garters?

I'm pretty sure this is a discussion thread for the wiki page and is intended for chatting about wiki edits. Am I misinterpreting its purpose?
