    Mystery Birth

A week ago while feeding my large group of T.radix females I noticed someone had passed jellies/slugs.
I wasn't too concerned since there hadn't been a male in the enclosure for a year. I just figured one of these girls passed unfertilized eggs.
Fast forward to this Thursday morning. I was in the same enclosure looking for my girl Lucky.
When I lifted the warm hide I saw Lucky but also saw a stillborn radix.
I went into panic mode as now I realized there maybe a baby somewhere. The water dish in this enclosure is for adults not babies so I worried any surviving babies could be suffering from dehydration.
I lifted the PINJOHN hide (inside joke) and found one little scrub in surprisingly good shape.
I have no idea who the mother is as no of these girls looked gravid. The bigger mystery is who the father is.
I sure hope I don't have some rogue male slipping in with my girls at night

I placed this special snake in with my b/w and some of my red radixes.
Last night I went to feed this group and the baby was the first out to eat from the hemostats. She's adjusting very well to Ranch life.
    Here she is.

Good catch, Steve. You find them outside, you find them inside... none can escape you.

congratulations, that is a mystery, but the stored sperm thing sounds most logical.

Yep...I agree...stored sperm....or, the visitors from outside have been slipping in again. That is a very cool story though...a little surprise baby. So glad he is doing well.

What? More logical than one of the males doing some latenight dorm hopping?

Good to see the pic Steve, I've been hoping to hear that the little one is doing well since you mentioned it the other day.
