Will the babies die inside of her?

Don't know, I'd say keep her warm and comfy

I think the chances are very good they will die along with the mother.
I have a female that might have mated this Fall and I will not brumate her for this very reason.
How do you know she is gravid?
Mating doesn't always mean the eggs will get fertilized at that time.

    Re: Brumating Pregnant Snakes...

I'm not 100% that she is gravid, she just seems bigger then she was when I caught her and she hasn't really been eating..

There aren't before and after pictures, sorry...

I've had her for a while and I've only tried to feed her a few times.

I think I should try to feed her again.

    I can take pictures..

    My pictures suck though...

    Are they worth taking?

Posting any photos is better then none.
If there is a chance she is gravid, I wouldn't brumate.
    Just my opinion.

    Alright, thanks.

I probably wont be submitting a picture because most of them suck.

    I wont brumate her.

    Thanks again,

    Re: Brumating Pregnant Snakes...

It might not even look gravid to some of you people out there..

There's not point of posting a picture when everyone will say something like, "That snake isn't gravid."

I do have another question though..

The question comes with a small story...

    Small story:

Earlier today, one of my snakes cloaca opened...

It seemed like it was going to let it's whole insides come out.

It seemed that way because it kept pushing whatever is inside there out.....

I have never seen one go out that far.... Anyway.....

I was scared that it was going to die or something.... But then I realized it could be having babies...

    It is a big female....

And it has this fat lump thing near its cloaca.

I think it might be a baby, possibly a old... dead one. I haven't seen that one mate with any other snakes of mine. That's where I got the old dead one idea from... Could it have stored the dead baby for a while without releasing it? It doesn't look like it is holding many babies, if any.

My female to male snake ratio is like 5:1 or something... I only have a few males....

Anyway, there was one male in the tank, so it is possible that it is gravid...

By the way, I've had this snake for like 3 years, it isn't a new one.

Also, I'm worried, because I was switching snakes around in their tanks, at the time when the snake seemed to be about to have its babies. Plus, it stopped what it was doing when I started switching its cage-mates around. I noticed what it was doing and quickly stopped..... But it was kinda too late, as it pulled it back inside and kept on slithering, right when I stopped..

    The questions are....

What can I do, how long until it releases whatever it is, is there anything I can do to encourage it to let loose of whatever it is holding?

    Please help, I'm very worried.

    Re: Brumating Pregnant Snakes...

It just opened its cloaca and pushed it out again...

Except this time I was holding her.....

    And there was blood....

    Now...

I am extremely concerned. Someone PLEASE tell me what is going on?

Well definitely don't hold her. Keep her by herself until someone who knows whats going on can reply.
To me, it sounds like she's constipated, Snap has done the same thing. Well, without the blood.
