    One? or more?

Hi I was just wondering if snakes seem happier when they have another snake to live with? or are they better alone? I have a ribbon

I have had garters and ribbons that have better feeding habits and health when housed with 1 or 2 others. And ones that showed feeding issues etc when housed with other garter/ribbons. So just make sure the snakes in question are healthy and then let them tell you if they are happy.

    It depends on the snake.

Some garters are best off alone.

Others seem to do more when they have a room mate.

Never seems to be a reason for it one way or the other.

I house my Juv. together. 6-7 all in one enclosure. They seem to like the togetherness. I've noticed that it helps stimulate feeding because of the added competition. I hand feed so there aren't any fights. I very rarely find one of my radixs off by themselves. At times I have had them alone and notice less activity. They don't seem to want to explore as much when they are by themselves. I agree with the other post. They'll let you know if that's what they want.
