    Snowing in June!!!

Well my Snow sirtalis female finally dropped, she gave me a small litter, but I'm always happy to see any little healthy scrubs! Ended up with 1 Albino, 2 Melanistics, and 1 Snow. She also had 1 stillborn Melanistic, and 1 Jellybean. Anyways, here a few pics...

Big Momma After Birth.... She is about 30-36" maybe bigger, so I was hoping for a larger litter, but oh well.

And hopefully this big girl will drop soon, shes getting HUGE!!!

    Re: Snowing in June!!!

Thanks to everyone, especially Jeff B. and Tom D. Jeff sold me an adult male double het snow, and Tom sold me the adult female snow. Just goes to show how much you can trust the good guys out there. I know there is a lot of speculation about buying adults animals, weather they are burned out breeders, and hell, for all I knew Jeff could have sent me a normal male, so it means alot to have both of these animals thrive and produce what they should. Now I have to decide which, if any, of the babies need new homes!!

On another note, I wonder what makes a female produce more follicles and in turn produce more babies. She was a nice big adult when I recieved her, and I pretty much put her right into brumation as I bought her in Oct or Nov. I wonder if cooling her lower would have helped in follicular development, or if nature just does what it does.... I think there is alot to learn with these awesome animals! I remember reading that Tom had his animals in the upper 40's, I only went to the lower 50's, maybe a 5 degree difference would change the way the females body reacts?!? Just kind of thinking out loud at this point of some of the plans I have to try for next season.

I may or may not keep the snow, if its a female it will probably stay with me, if its a male I will probably sell it once it is feeding well and I have plenty of time to watch it grow.

On a side note, the female did have 2 more babies yesterday, they were both stillborn, 1 melanistic, and 1 normal.
