So that leads me to my question: Can two males be housed in a 20 gallon(normal, not long) comfortably?

I don't know why it's even being questioned unless of course, they are 5 feet long.

They seem pretty comfortable to me.

As a general idea, the snake should not exceed the length plus the width. If you have another that size, add 1 square foot. Not sure how big your snakes are, or what you mean by "regular" 20 gallon because there are more than 2 different dimensions for a 20 gallon but I think it will work.
