Here is a fat gravid water snake I photographed in the wild 2 summers ago, found the pictures while cleaning up my hard drive.

That plumpness seems to go all the way down to the tail...

However, I am only guessing, When I photo in the wild, I seldom touch my subjects.

I prefer to leave them unmolested.

It was the correct time of year for her to be gravid, but then again she lives near a pond filled with food.
