    He's hiding too much, he's been exploring it for the last 6 hours, I already left the door unlocked once and he figured how to push it open and escape down my hallway to come see me in the living room rofl.

    I did not know that about skinks and alligator lizards.
    I love seeing stuff like that.
    I'd read up on blue tongues a few years ago, and then gave up on getting one any time soon. I'd forgotten most of the specifics, but I still have the book and there's a forum with a fabulous care sheet that I joined back then, so in terms of the care, it's been just a bit of brushing up.
    spending time with a lizard is always different from reading about them
    in terms of general disposition, this one seems pretty true to the descriptions - pretty unflappable; burrows a lot; a bit more alert and active than I had expected; with an eating style like a trash compactor
    it'll be cool to see her settle in and grow up
    she'll be the hit at science events
