I say the realtor is at fault. You can't possibly tell me that, after the publicity that house got with its previous owners' news story, that the realtor wasn't aware of the snake population there. Even though the snakes are harmless, they still had a responsibility to inspect the house (for termites and other pests, as well as for structural problems) and inform the buyers of any potential problems. If they had done their jobs right, that family would have been informed of the problem beforehand, and wouldn't be filing for bankruptcy now. Bottom line, I can't see how the realtor didn't know about the snakes, and if they did, what their excuse was for not informing the buyers. The only way they could be lower is if they had a mustache, black cape, top hat, and multiple ladies tied to railroad tracks behind their house.

I'll sell the house to these suckers while the snakes are hibernating out of site. Genius!

Yeah, I think I'd have wanted the realtor's assurances that the 'snake stories' were false IN WRITING.

Hopefully, Steve won't get washed out in any flooding, but if he does, I bet he already knows where he'd like to move.

Not about snakes but relevant to the over all theme. Humans not taking proper care of or respecting animals leading to human tragedy and dead vilified animals. Which are then blamed for the incident in the media.

That said I'm not a fan of Weasels... but I don't think they should be killed for being what they are.
when I was little they called me the snake man... as I was usually carrying around a bucket full of brown snakes.
