sumichrasti's are only found in a limited range in mexico. that sweet snake is the Short-tail Alpine Garter Snake, Thamnophis scaliger

I belive I may have been wrong on this... mixed up photos on the internet... I went to Rossman's book and checked... it shows as the Mexican Alpine Blotched Garter Snake, Thamnophis scalaris
