Just wondered how often you have to change the water in a bowl to remove the ammonia, nitrates and nitrites (or actually you're not likely to have much of a biofilter in a bowl, so the toxins will be mostly ammonia). I do a 9l change in my 60l tank each week to keep the nitrate level down. Which reminds me, I need to test my water.

Do you hold your tarantula? My friend got a tarantula recently but he never holds it...

Spiders are something we could never have in the house, Char's petrified of them, that photo would be bad enough for her. I think I'd like a spider when we have kids, get them used to the things that "are scary". I was fine with spiders as a kid, but get nervous now because I've read about poisonous one coming into the UK in banana boxes... Irrational I know. I have to tell myself spiders are OK now.

I share my home with many spiders, they eat insects that would otherwise be pests.

Sure I have to clean off cobwebs, but the fruit flies and fleas stuck in the webs tell it all.

I only allow jumping spiders to share my home. The giant house spiders are too aggressive.. They are KOS. There are little translucent red and brown ones... Those are KOS too they bite and cause some nasty infections.

Nope, it's just pretty to look at! I love watching it crawl around, and web building is very cool.
