Great looking little ones. My wish list of new recruits keeps growing and something with some striking blue coloring to it has been on my mind the more pics I see. These gorgeous snakes could be the one. I love the contrast of the blue with the black. When it comes to the price range on these are they similar to the flames in that the more high end (bright) blue means more expense? Congrats again, they are awesome.

I know Mr. Felzer gets a higher price for the ones that are blue at birth, but I don't know how that relates to their adult coloration or if blue-at-birth is a trait that can be isolated.

He seems to get a higher price for everything, like Nike gets $100 or more for a lousy tennis shoe, but yeah, ones showing blue at birth cost more. understandable. those are the ones in demand. remember, most pugets aren't blue at all. They range from B&W, pale green. B& yellow, etc. The intense blue ones are found only at the exreme south end of their range. Olympia, Ft. Lewis, Dupont area but even there, not all of them are blue. Not even within the same litter.

its a polygenic trait with varying degrees of expression. i don't think it can be isolated 100% but you can certainly increase the odds.

the majority of them look just like there parents when they are born, there is little variation...most are blue when born...i should know
