    Re: More liophis poecilogyrus eggs

Thanks Shannon , it's good to be here. Definitley one of the better forums. I would be on here more if it was mobile friendly or I need to get an iPad ! To much effort to use the pc! Getting the eggs is half the battle, the first females clutch failed early in the year, the 2nd female laid and 4 out of 7 look ok and due mid July . Then this batch 6 out of 7 look ok. Fingers crossed. Not much info on these so kinda learning as I go. . Thanks for all the comments will keep you updated . Also intersted to hear other liophis keepers experiences.

That's a really pretty snake What kind is that?(Like the common name). Also, just curious(I'm new to snakes),do you leave the eggs with the mom? Or take them out? What would they do in the wild?

The common name over here is gold bellied snake. I incubate the eggs myself as its better to control the environment . In the wild they lay there eggs in rotten leaves ect where the temp is stable. They show no care for the eggs after there laid.

Cool! I don't think I've heard of those, still she's really nice looking I figured they didn't need to be left with her, but just wasn't sure. Had to ask

If you don't ask you don't learn. . King cobras are the odd one out, they do guard the eggs until they hatch.

Wow, thats pretty crazy. I know I wouldn't mess with a cobra to get the eggs....

I still think it's kinda weird(but cool) that any snakes have live babies!

. It's the best way, takes out the worry of incubation ! All snakes should try it lol.

He looks silly About how long does it take them to get out of an egg by themselves?
