I guess it would have to be a maritime garter since NS doesn't have any native water snakes. The head is throwing me off because it's so wide.

At first glance, it does look like a water snake. I can see how people would get confused. Very cool garter

Yeah, I thought so too at first but it could only be a maritime garter.
