I have a vet appoint today @ 5:30 for sexing the un-named, hope to be female, new red sided. I REALLY hope she's a she, because the sweetness is awesome. I've read that several memebers like the sassy ones, not I, the sweeter the better, kinda like southern ice tea. A bonus would be a fresh poop sample when I get home so I can have that checked also.

I would like to officially introduce you to Jewels. SHE is the new addition and I couldn't be happier. I took her to the Vet today and he checked her from head to tail, literally. He was rubbing below the vent, I guess to see if he could "feel" the hemipenis, then he "popped" her, then probed her. She was such a sweetie during all this, and she did pee a little during the probe, but nothing really considering she was being violated. He even checked her with a magnifier looking for mites. He didn't see any, but he said to watch her water dish for signs. I was also able to take a fecal sample with me, and yes, she is on Panacur. I'm just happy I found a Vet 10 min from my home, with evening and weekend hours. One of the Techs said “I can't believe I'm standing this close to a snake”. Well by the end of the visit this Tech was petting her. Not only has Jewels brought happiness into our home, but she also has reduced this woman's fear of snakes. She sure is a gem. Now I've reached my limit.

Sounds like Jewels is in good hands. Did your Vet say what parasite/s he found? I'd be interested in that info.
Glad she is doing so well. She deserves an extra pinky or worm.

I sent an e-mail to see what they say about the parasites. The Vet let me look through the scope and see one of them, it looked like a round worm, but then I'm comparing it to pics I found on-line. Hope to have an answer tomorrow. 1.5 small pinky today, she'll be getting something to eat for the next 5 days in a row to take with the meds.

When I put all the evidence together(as I see it):
Nice taper on the tail even though there is a slight bulge/swelling at the vent(not usual but not uncommon on some females)
Nice full body and head structure and size.
Not accounting for the former owners statement.
