We have proximus proximus, and they make no trouble of feeding at all. The parents are a bit shy, but they eat quite well and the babies are always cruising around in their enclosure to look for someting to eat. They have been like that short after they were born.
Mine are like that too, I have proximus orarius, and they'll eat mice out of my hand. But for some reason ribbons are notoriously picky eaters.
