If I cant walk for half an hour one way and still be in my yard, I could never be happy there.

With the exception of these two neighbors, I am very happy. This place is paradise to me, nothing I'd rather see than that creek, the woods, the hill, all of it.

See I like the idea of bears in the garbage, skunks under the porch, deer eating apples out of my tree, and snakes everywhere.

Thing is, I want nothing more than to be left alone, to live my life in peace. Yet somehow these 2 neighbors wish to make my life anything but peaceful.

I tried to ignore all this, really I did.... Then they decided to launch attacks against Dorothy and Samantha to try and get at me.. That was just too much.

What kind of creep tries to get a handicap persons SSI revoked???

When I first moved into the neighborhood Garters were usually killed and thrown in the street. Now, the neighbors will call and say "send one of your kids over". We don't mind at all and some neighbors are now looking and even touching the snakes we remove.

Surprises me now. For 50 years(since I was 10) snakes lived on the periphery of my consciousness. I don't know the exact percentage of the irrationally fearful but I'm guessing 95. But- neighbours brought us a two foot specimen in a covered bucket- they were terrified but happy to catch a snake "for Lucy". Probably guess where it comes from. Interesting.

Gotta love 'em whether or not. My best employee keeps a shovel at each corner of his house. You know what for. Can"t even look at a photo. Has to sit outside to have a beer when he drops in.

Most of my currently living relatives keep shovels and sticks at every corner of their summer cottages and at practically every tree along every little path for the same purpose. We don't get along.

It takes more energy to commit such an act than it does to scare them off with a broom....
Lets face it a broom is cheaper than a shovel too.
Its not like they are doing themselves a favor by hurting those snakes, more like promoting rat and mice population growth!
