Thanks for all the replys. I'm planning on keeping all my red I catch this summer and breed them. So I produce high reds year round. I used to think garters were boring snakes and thought they were ugly then I caught her. After that I kept many other garters. Sence they live in my backyard its going too be easy for me to breed them.

I never knew ppl kept Garter snakes, & didn't know there was soooo many different types. Aundrea's step son found a snake, it turned out to be a Dekayi. Now she has 2 dekayi's & a red sided garter. I saw pics & read the site a few times, got hooked instantly! I have 2 dekayi's, a red sided, 2 more gaters on the way & a milksnake.

They are sooo cool... & cute!
