maybe it boils down to what we were talking about some time ago joe. some people tend to keep garters too warm, for too many months. puget sound gets close to 300 days a year of rain and/or too cold for them to even be active at all. maybe this subspecies just won't reproduce well with all that "pampering" and dang near "forever summer" they get in captivity.
on a side note i noticed that scott doesnt have them on the available or expected list this year

yeh...its a combination of reasons...at one point they were everywhere and people thought it was always goona be like that, they were wrong! Alot of peolpe were trying to breed them with very little success and those people gave up...thats when i took notice and took them on, ive liked the challenge and ive succeeded, im a happy guy...."forever summer"...you crack me up Richard
