Don't give her to a friend. Give her to me!!! Such a wonderful little snake. It's a shame I can't find vagrans up here. Keep her! She's beautiful.

If I was closer to where you live I certainly would.
I am leaning towards keeping the baby, just cause she is a cutie. Might go snake hunting for an older on for my friend today or tomorrow.

Is she in a critter carrier?(Like this ^)

    Or a critter cage?(Like this^)

Apperantly babies are very good at escaping the critter carriers(the first image). I think sometimes they are able to squeeze through the little slats on top. Not positive. Just things I've heard on the forum.

Yes...I have heard of babies squeezing through the slats...and Wayne put up a post a while back about a baby who broke it's neck trying to get through a slat. If she is getting through the slats...you need to move her to another type of enclosure asap.

I do have my new little baby in a critter keeper for now...she can't reach the top yet. As soon as I see her getting near the top...she is being moved. All of my other babies share a 20L.

Inspired by this post, I decided to measure the space between the slats on three models (two of each) from a single manufacturer (Ferplast).

    The smallest (Geo Extra Large)
Along the sides of the lid: 2 mm.
    On top: 1.5 mm
    Cable holes: 5.5 - 5.75 mm

    The tallest (Geo Maxi)
Along the sides of the lid: varies from 2.25 - 3 mm.
On top: 2 mm, HOWEVER the row closest to the rim has slats that are >3.75 mm wide.
    Cable holes: 5.5 - 5.75 mm

The biggest surface area (Geo Flat Large)
Along the sides of the lid: varies from 2.25 - 3 mm.
On top: 2 mm, HOWEVER the row closest to the rim has slats that are >3.75 mm wide.
    Cable holes: 5.5 - 5.75 mm

These bigger ones clearly have slats and holes that are big enough for very small snakes to escape and personally, I avoid keeping the smallest snakes in these bigger models. The cable holes on all of them must be plugged, regardless of the width of the slats.

She is in the first one. I think the lid was open just a bit and she bumped it and got out.

If you have no where else to put her, be very careful, because those are the kind they can slip out of.

I am making sure that Bitz can't get out now. She sure is bity for a little snake. I went to touch her and little stinker grabbed my finger. She won't take guppies. Should I try worms? When they are this small what do they like?
