I agree that the homozygous melanistic gene is domtinating the normal pattern, but the flame-gene is doing the same at all.
If you breed melanistic and amelanistic together, you get an intermeriary appearance. If you breed flame to leucistic you´ll get an intermediary too.
So how do you know that melanistic will dominate flame?

I don´t agree, but I will see what in future will happen. Amelanistic Flames work well,too. I think there is a good chance to get some nice result. Maybe there must be some more generations to get better results.

It has already been done.And the melanistic overides the albino to a degree.You can clearly see the melanistic pattern along with the dominant white chin.There were 3 generations of flames x melanistic for sale on kingsnake. none ever came out with red chins.
