Aggressiveness in garter snakes usually goes away fairly quickly. They are just defending themselves.
Once they know you are not a threat and maybe a good food source, they chill out.

There is no way to tell you for sure if she is or isn't.
It all boils down to the experience of the people telling you and some luck.
If she's a heavy bodied female she may look gravid but not be.
She may also be a thin bodied female that has a small litter.
Only time will tell either way.
Considering the time of the year and her size I say no, but that is just a guess on my part.
That's too bad they don't make E.P.T's for snakes.

She looks a bit like Mama. When I caught Mama she was the BIGGEST garter snake I had ever seen. I thought she was definitely gravid... Turned out that she was just a female Lately, she's been getting fatter every day... Not in a bad way though (I hope she never sees this post! she might bite me for calling her fat!!) She's been eating a lot too.. But don't get me wrong, I absolutely love fat garters Maybe I'll have to get myself a radix one day since Steve has said they're eating machines. I want a garter that's just like me! haha
