    Omg

I keep seeing the ones where, what should be up front, is in the back.

    Good points, mistakes happen.
I would be concerned about using whoever probed her again though. Easy for me to say after the fact I know and I could see how at first glance it could be mistaken visually though when it was younger. One of the few times I've heard of someone probing a female as a male, usually it's an un co-operative male probing as female (and really who could blame them for clenching lol)

    Re: sexing error

personally I've never seen a female with a bulge, however small, after (distal to) the vent
all of mine have bulges before (proximal to) the vent, and some of them have "hips"
but I have not kept hundreds of garters - just a few dozen - so I may just have never seen one even if it is a common occurrence
he is a bit large for a male, but the marcianus male is at least one-and-a-half times that size, and another concinnus male I'd had previously was bigger than this too, so that's not something I'd sex by

You know, I'm not one to say "I told you so" but I think I mentioned before Rhea, a long time ago, that I thought "he" was a female. And I'm not talking about just length when I say "size". Female concinnus' are much heavier bodied than males of the same length. I always thought "he" was a bit too bulky to be a male. Even if I overfeed a male consistently, they just don't get that thick. The head is another indicator. Large female concinnus' always have broader heads than males.

But anyway, when do we get to see these hybrids? Even though I would never do it on purpose, now that it's done, I am curious to see what they look like.

Well of course! How else are you supposed to help people to see how truly genius you are?

    Steve
Richard knows his concinnus, even if he just sees half of one
I just mistakenly thought they were sort of like other sirtalis, and by the T.s.sirtalis or T.s.parietalis standarts at my house, this snake looks like a guy
I'll have to go back to the photos to see where he gets "thick" though
does it make any difference that it's a child holding the snake?
I'll take a photo with another snake - that might be better

the babies look just like spectacularly mud coloured marcies - very cute

Here's a helpful tail chart from Allan Francis' web site. The top 3 (A, B & C) are all female examples, the bottom 2 male. You can see in hindsight that yours looks most like the B example.
