When I go off to school for the semester, I generally miss a lot of the shenanigans that go on with our animals, but my parents just told me last week about this one.

We have this giant, geriatric cat. He's almost 17 years old, and he typically just sits in one place for really long periods of time (his record is three days in one spot, moving only twice to go use the bathroom).
Anyway, apparently last year my parents went to pick him up out of the yard, and he had been there for so long that a young garter snake had actually crawled under him and curled up! The cat was awake and everything, I guess he just didn't feel like moving to get the snake.

Just thought that'd be fun to share since most cat and garter stories don't end happily.
