    Very cool! You are most fortunate to have seen this phenomenon in person.
    If you garden, count yourself lucky to have garters around (Tho not many will hang about after mating season.) most varieties love slugs.

    There are many holes in my yard. Hoping and praying that a big mating ball will spring up on top of one of them! If so, I will be so excited that I will pass out on the ground and probably miss getting any pics for you guys.

    Do you think they will come out and mate again or is it just a one time thing? I wonder when they will leave the den for the summer. Here in Nebraska the weather is so unreliable. April and May can still have a frost. I will definitely keep you guys posted with anymore activity or pictures!!
