Very pretty ribbon. I've seen some Thamnophis sauritus sauritus available to buy. He only has females though and I would be interested in a pair I think.

I really do think ribbons seem to be underrated and under represented

My first snake, in his second enclosure. I wish I could find another like him and I don't just mean one that looks the same.

Incidentally, this was the picture I used in my introduction thread on this forum.

You should upload the pictures to imageshack and post them here. Your attachments don't work.

I was told that she would color up as she grows.....Which I hope is the case. I Bought her from scott she is supposed to be a 2.1 Red (axanthic x red X axanthic x red). Is this possible?

As far as the red goes, "coloring up" is a crap shoot. Some do, some don't. Typically, you should start to see red coming in by 6 mos old. If you don't, then she's not likely to color up. According to Scott's website, the axanthic trait is "co-dominant" .... "which means when they are bred to anerythristics, statistically 50% of the offspring will be axanthic". But that's not how a codominant trait works so i'm confused. With a codominant trait, even hets come out expressing the trait either partially or entirely.

For example, if a codominant anerythristic is bred to a normal, the offspring will come out somewhere in between normal and anery(hypoerythristic) or entirely anerythristic.

At any rate, so far it looks as though you have a normal snake. The traits you mention (red and axanthic) only really have any meaning if you plan to breed for producing axanthics or reds in the future. She may, or may not color up to be red.

Anyway, the thing that confused me was when you said she was axanthic. She's not, or she wouldn't have yellow on her at all. This is axanthic:

Sorry for going so way off topic. I have so many "favorite" photos of my snakes, it's hard to decide what to post here. I'm working on it.
