I haven't experienced much garter musk, but tomato juice seems to work for neutralizing skunk musk, so it may be worth trying it for garter musk.

It's not worth it. it would be a pain, time consuming, and just not worth it

Someone should test that, see how snakes react if you pick them up smelling like musk... but not that particular snakes musk.. not sure how though. Whatever.
