    Re: Lori's snakes and such

Thanks... but I made the big mistake of sending all the pics I took to my sis, his mom. Her and her husband were not impressed, to put it mildly. I got blasted for letting him around the animals. It's been a very depressing weekend. I literally got the impression that they were threatening to not let him come over again. I'm just so bummed about the whole thing. I mean, it's not like my mom & I weren't right there... do they really think I'd put him in danger??

They act like they want to keep him in a plastic bubble. They never take him anywhere like the park or even for neighborhood walks. He basically lives inside their little house 24/7. All mom & I were doing was letting him run around for once and be a real kid.

Did any of you parents on here get upset when you saw him with the animals?? Because I'm thinking maybe I just don't get it. I'm not a mom, so maybe I just can't see the problem. Please tell me.

To be honest, Lori, I enjoyed the pictures of the little guy around the animals..... it seems the most natural thing to do. Children learn very little from the TV etc... they need hands on experience.... They need to smell the 'real World'.
I'd bring Molly to you any time.

Aw crud James, you made me cry... I've been feeling so awful since Sat evening. He was so happy here... I really feel they are depriving him of so much. At his age I was helping my grandpa feed the cows and livestock every day... and I turned out all right.

Er. Well. Depending on your point of view, of course. Ha.

I like Molly to get up close and personal with animals... that's the way to experience them, and to learn.

ROFL!!!!!! Omg, the dreaded sheepface disease!! Well, the only way to cure that is to let her have a lamb for a pet, I'm afraid.

Lori, I feel just horrible for you, that they reacted so poorly.
That boy looked like he was having such fun with those critters. It's great that you gave him such a wonderful experience, and he'll remember times like that as he grows. His parents need to lighten up. Big time.
