By comparison, I can't remember ever being bitten by a concinnus in the field. They usually just squirm and musk momentarily, then calm right down. Occasionally one will open it's mouth / bluff strike, but even that's rare. The only bites I get from concinnus' are captive ones that mistake my hand for food. LoL.

No, even snap was no exception. She never bit me, and never even acted like she wanted to. In fact, when choosing a 3 striper to send to you, I purposely picked the one that was the calmest when I handled her. She just hates you.

She loves me. I give her extra fish and pinky bits when they're available, and we snuggle up in my favourite blanket together... She just has a twisted way of showing her affections.

Easterns will actually strike at you...I have had them strike at me outside and have had Cee Cee do it a few times...most of the time it's just a fake strike...the only time she ever bit me was when she was being a pig and wanted more food. Tonight she got mad when I switched her to her new home and actually lunged across the enclosure at me...it was kind of funny. Most of the times they are just skiddish though and trying to act tough.

Never had mine strike at me. Blade smelled really bad from musking when we got her, but a little warm water bath fixed that right up. Our girls are very sweet. Even Cotton, our feisty one has never tried to bite. She accidentally bumped my finger when taking some food once and backed off real fast and looked at me like "I am so sorry, are you ok?". It was sweet.

    Re: Wayne's Garter Snakes

    some new pics.....

Garter love.. He tried, but she did not let him.

"Sunshine" the yellow garter I found in November with the nasty tail injury..

I like his cream white chin. Compliments the yellow nicely.

And this is the red/orange snake the guy up the road was going to chop up with a shovel, he called me to come remove her... she was so pretty I just decided to keep her. Capturing her true colour is difficult, she has a copper red hue with a dark orangish yellow dorsal stripe.
