I exactly made the same mistake... thinking they would not get through there. I had newborn marcianus, luckily no escaped in the end because I put it in an the enclosure of the adults...

I had completely forgotten that those holes existed. When I kept my other snakes in this enclosure and others like it, I always blocked the holes just to be sure. This time, I just forgot that they even existed.

Really, I'm glad the little one was ok. I know the outcome could have been so much worse. I also know that you realize this and you won't make the same mistake again

lol actually i've gotten a brown snake that got really stuck in a hole that was quite sharp and rough.... so i slathered him in butter and he came right out lol then he got a bath
