    We really like Roald Dahl, too. He sounds like the kind of person I would have loved to have known personally.

    My Ex-husband works for Dyson and he went out with one of the service engineers visiting customers. He got to the house of a lovely gentleman, somewhere near Bath, not far from here and had a wonderful chat with him. On his way out he spotted a photograph of said old gentleman on the wall, posing with the pig "Babe" from the film. So he said, "oh, you've met Babe" to which he got the reply... "Yeah, I wrote the book!" I was in stitches, I would have recognised Di[k King-Smith the moment he opened the door!

    He did, James. But his business folded last year. That horrendous rain all summer long totally destroyed him! Funnily enough noone was in the mood for ice cream. So he went back to JD, who was more than pleased to have him back luckily.
