Lately I've been listening to Dwarven Metal. Here's their break-out song, but frankly, the whole album, Wintersaga, is downright epic.

I recently found a channel where this girl basically plays with foxes and sometimes a coyote (no anvils, safes, pianos, rockets, or dehydrated tornadoes were involved).
The channel is called...

A friend of mine recently found and safely relocated a garter snake. He posted the following pictures and video for identification. I think it's an Eastern, but another friend, who happens to be a...

Thanks, guys. That was what I suspected.

Michigan. From what I've read, there are only two species of garter and one ribbon in that area. This one looks Eastern to me.
-
A friend posted this one on Facebook and would like an ID. I'm certain it's thamnophis, but am uncertain of the precise species.
Thanks.

That's what I thought, too. Clint Pustejovsky of Texas Snakes and More also concurs. The guy who posted it thought it could be a Gulf Coast Ribbon, but didn't think that was right.

Someone on FB posted this pic. Location: Texas, I think.
ID please?

Here are some ideas:
1. A randomizer script in the page code that loads a past contest winner pic every time someone logs on. A database of pics may be required.
2. Once a month, a...

I've caught lots of Easterns that have those red-colored patterns on their sides.

I've never seen any monster garters myself. Although I have heard legends about a garter snake that could turn into a bat and suck blood. I also heard about another one that, if it bit you, you'd...

Texas Snakes & More ID'ed it as a banded water snake. I think we can be fairly sure it's a Nerodia. The picture was taken in Mississippi.
Several people commented on the picture saying it was a...

A friend of mine wants to know what kind of snake this is.

Anybody know how to contact the agency caring for the snakes? That info doesn't appear to be in the articles, even though they did request donations.
-
The expert handling the snakes - Megan Lawrence - is apparently looking for resources to house and feed the snakes.
What's the address to T. Radix Ranch?
-
Obviously so they can be cared for properly during the winter.

Hey Steve! Here's a new house for you:

I have a wild-caught Eastern Garter, as well. At about this time every year, she stops eating. It's because she knows that winter is coming and prepares to bruminate. And that's even when I kept...

Does anyone else remember this classic from LimoZeen?

My guess: garters feel less threatened when in the presence of other garters. It lowers the chance that a predator will attack me if I have a buddy that can act as a decoy.
-
Is there something wrong with it? It looks fairly healthy to me.

I used to catch Mississippi Tss. Looks like an Eastern to me.

Garter pig! Garter pig!
Does anything that a garter pig does!
Can he swing on a web?
No he can't, cause he's a pig!

My enclosure is two 105 qt tubs linked by a large PVC coupler. One side is all land, the other is all water, except for a large paving stone in the middle.
