    Hello from Texas

    Hello everyone,

I've been lurking for awhile. I got an Albino Checkered Garter for my son a few months ago. I've never really been a snake person, but when I discovered garters, we had to have one. LOL. He (I think - see my post in General about help with sexing) has been a very cool snake so far and I'm thinking about getting another one. Looking forward to getting to know all of you.

Nice to have you with us. I'm originally from Texas (Abilene) a long time ago.
Garters are a special snake. Very curious and interactive.
T.marcianus (Checkered Garter Snake) are awesome. I have a few myself.
Here's a link to the forum care sheet, it is always a good read. Any question not answered feel free to post to the forum.

Thanks. I have family in Abilene. Been there many times, but we live in Central Texas, just south of Austin.

Welcome aboard from a brisk Winnipeg!

I myself started off with checkereds and have a wonderful group of five of them. Very solid snake. Grow quickly and hit food like a ton of bricks. Nice to have you here!

Welcome aboard from freezing Coventry. We started with an albino checkered girl, then a couple of normal checkereds... it's a pleasant slippery slope.
