Below is a cruddy cell phone pic, but you can clearly see that the base color is yellow, even though this one was found outside that isolated area well inside the main area on the range map for elegans. I don't have a picture, but I have seen them with the white base color, too, like in your other pic. Yours with the white is stunning, btw! I think it's all pretty interesting We're lucky to have such diversity in California!
