    Rescued Natrix Natrix today

    This Grass snake was caught up in some netting in neighbors garden today

    I sure hope everything turns out OK. Was it doing a lot of tongue flicking and moving? If it was in that netting very long it was probably dehydrated.
    Nice job on the rescue.
    What did you do with it?
    Looks like it's going into or coming out of a shed.

    Funny you should say about shedding it was peeling off in my hand as I wrestled it out of the netting, yes it was very dehydrated what I did was use a drinking bottle and squirted into mouth he/she drunk a lot I have released her into her natural environment now as I didn't want to keep it.

    Lovely Snake though and not one we see all that often being a private little thing.

    Thanks all, it was rescued from the UK county Wiltshire, its a rare treat to see one but was in unfortunate circumstances I must admit but hopefully the snake will live on to have a happy life. Job done feel really proud of myself that I helped a living native snake as it could well of died if left there much longer of like you say dehydration as its very hot in the UK at present which makes a pleasant change.
