Home made enclosure can be any dimensions that you wish. I have several ranging in size from just about 18 inches to one that is 8 feet wide.

Construction is also whatever you chose, a basic cube to a wall rack.

By building your own, the only limits are your imagination & budget.

For a simple garter snake enclosure, you can make a really nice cage that is 4 feet wide by 2 feet tall by 2 feet deep with a single sheet of plywood and a piece of glass.

There's one I knocked up earlier this year - 120x60x60cm. It uses Ikea table tops for the top and bottom, so it's really sturdy. The white wood is just 15mm furniture board. If you use furniture board make sure you seal around the inside.

Here's a couple of it in situ in my old house. Now it's got a 90cm ExoTerra viv and a 30cm ExoTerra on top of it.

I've got a whole bunch of photos of this one through the build, just haven't had time to put them together into a viv build thread.

Here's an old thread of mine. Not sure how useful it actually is.

I have an older big box rear projection TV that I would like to turn into a snake cage. What does one use for paint for the inside of the tank? Any advice would be appreciated.
