    feeding after purchasing?

I purchased two juvenile checkered garter snakes on Thursday and I'm not sure when/what I should try to feed them. I bought 4 frozen pinkies, I have 20-30 feeder guppies and a few earthworms! The one snake is very skittish whenever I approach the tank, while the other one remains hidden in the bedding almost all the time. Should I take them one at a time and place them in another critter cage with food to see if they will eat it? Any help or advice would be awesome!

    Thanks!

Don't be surprised if they don't start eating right away. Some garters require a little "settling in" time. No harm in offering. We'd love to see s few photos when you have time.

They are not just snakes. They're garter snakes.
