"It's a little bit discerning..." (guy from video).

People assume that time is a strict progression of cause to effect, but actually, from a non-linear, non-subjective viewpoint, it's more like a big ball of wibbly-wobbly timey-wimey stuff.

Re: When can I move in?

The video guys comments..."we have absolutely had it with this situation, we don't seeing it going away anytime soon". He doesn't look upset, his kids seem to like the (outdoor only, no horrific snakes in the bed/kitchen/bathroom stories which we know they would have shared) snakes, I suspect the "situation" involves his wife's constant complaining.

And LOL on "discerning". Guy was probably nervous being on the news.

watch Animal Planet's Infestations show with snakes..... a re-creation of the last family's story while at the house. All snakes in the video are mine =) I went up with a film company that works with Animal Planet to film it. was a lot of fun!

Yeah, I posted that clip on youtube and it's getting a lot of views. It's kind of fun to explain to trolls... er... commenters (the ones that find snakes repulsive, especially) that the snakes used in the filming are actually pets belonging to Don.

Re: When can I move in?

Funny thing is, I now think it is quite silly to be terrified of garter snakes. But then again, I can't help but remember how, 2 years ago, their presence around my front porch terrified me.

Re: When can I move in?

My mom was terrified of garter snakes because a "huge" (she said it was at least 5 feet long.. yeah right...) garter snake bit her and drew blood when she was a kid.

When I got snakey as a yearling he dropped on the floor and she was screaming bloody murder. She said it was because he'd be "loose in the house and she'd step on him". Again, that's another "mhmmm, suuuure" moment. Snakey wasn't any ore than 8 inches, very slim and dehydrated. He wasn't fast at all.

Re: When can I move in?

The thing is, you never really know what causes a person to be afraid of certain creatures. Heck, there's even a clownaphobia.

Me, I attribute most of my ophidiophobia to a combination of factors: misconceptions about their venomous nature (thanks, old western movies my dad used to watch), stepping on a huge Black Racer when I was a kid (which, at the time, I mistook for a moccasin), heredity. It was only through education and deliberate choice that I was able to overcome mine. So it was actually a good thing my yard got stampeded with garters. I kind of miss seeing so many now.
