Looking forward to seeing the article and pictures Rhea. I'm sure you did a fine job representing snake owners and I'll keep my hopes up that the reporter doesn't sensationalize things too much.

    here it is
nothing big - more like a grab bag
and an odd choice of words from me
they got something wrong there, but it's not a big deal
I do like the photo, although I'm surprised that they picked that one

Nice Rhea, But somehow I just knew they would have to throw in that chimp somewhere.

    Good to see you.

Big Apple animal lovers go just as wild over exotic pets as Connecticut woman Sandra Herold did over her chimp.
Yeah, I can read between the lines.

to be expected - in fact I expected worse
they could have totally butchered exotic pet owners in the wake of that chimp thing
and when they're out to butcher someone, they're not that subtle about it
in another article they posted pics of the chimp as a baby that would make most main-stream people more understanding, even if most of us might find it inappropriate or worse to treat a chimpanzee like a human baby

The article wasn't too bad. Cute pic of you and Mikhaila

I think the below quote is funny... he's trying to sensationalize the number of prohibited animals, but 11 code violations in a city the size of NY? LOL I'm sure there were more code violations for just about everything else you can imagine!

"Last year, the city issued 53 code violations, including 11 for wild or prohibited animals...."

    Snake Eyes...

A old snake goes to see his Doctor.

"Doc, I need something for my eyes...can't see well these days." The Doc fixes him up with a pair of glasses and tells him to return in 2 weeks.

The snake comes back in 2 weeks and tells the doctor he's very depressed.

Doc says, "What's the problem...didn't the glasses help you?"

"The glasses are fine doc, I just discovered I've been living with a water hose the past 2 years!"
    Thanks, ~*Natalie*~

The word "slang", which means "snake" in Dutch, means "hose" in Swedish. Just a bit of useless trivia.

Its a nice spider to be sure but I would recommend saving yourself the grief and go with a Lasiodora parahybana instead. Almost as big, much, much easier to care for and much less expensive. Readily available as CBB (many larger goliaths are imports) and over all just a much easier spider to deal with. The only drawback is their utricating hairs are pretty irritating and they are more than willing to fling them.
