at that size can you not feed them small mice?

I must admit I fed my garter for the 1st time last night, compared to my others she was SOOOO quick to come out and grab her mouse.

They get pinkies on rotation. They would rather have pinkies all the time. With worms so free and plentiful this time of the year, they will get worms more often. This would be their most abundant food source this time of the year.

sorry, just re-read my post, sounded harsher than it was meant.

It was a question more than an accusationary comment. I am very new to garter snakes (like a week new) so trying to catch up on how they are looked after. It appears things vary alot between the states and the UK.
